Dr. Robert Hardi is a gastroenterologist based in Bethesda, MD, where he serves as a principal at Chevy Chase Gastroenterology and a gastroenterologist at Physician Associates. He also serves as a physician with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Washington, DC, and as chief clinical scientist for MediPredict in Budapest, Hungary. Bethesda, MD, Dr. Robert Hardi began his gastroenterologist practice in Washington, DC, through a private practice he managed for 12 years. He has also had several academic appointments, and currently serves as a clinical associate professor of medicine for George Washington University Medical School and Georgetown University Medical School.

An extensive researcher, Dr. Robert Hardi has served as principal investigator on more than 350 clinical trials focusing on various aspects of gastroenterology, including polyp prevention and therapeutic device trials. More than half of these trials focused on inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Hardi earned his MD from Semmelweis University Medical School and completed a residency in internal medicine in St. Bonifatius University and the Medical University of Hannover. He also completed a gastrointestinal fellowship at Cornell University Medical College and a hematology-oncology fellowship at the University of New Mexico Medical School.
